Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. She is the President and owner-controller of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is a California native, and was raised by a wealthy family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was an estate tycoon before becoming the owner of Lakers, among other businesses. In 1972, her parents separated up and she felt emotionally left out. When she was 19 years old, she began working for the family business as the director of the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. The team was later renamed the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum, before becoming the Vice president for the Lakers. Buss her father passed away in 2013 which is when the Lakers were acquired by Buss and her five siblings through a trust. Each sibling had the same number of votes. She assumed the office as president for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is the owner of Women of Wrestling in Los Angeles the organization which is a pro-wrestling organization.
